Following any remedial roof repair work that needed to be carried out and for those properties that had no requirement for the repairs the next stage is to apply one of the Climashield™ coloured roof coatings or a clear sealer all supplied by Smartseal UK Ltd one of the UK's leading sealant suppliers.

The weather conditions have to be favourable with no rain forecast for several hours after the last coating has been applied,therefore the roof tiles wil be given ample time to expel moisture retained from the roof cleaning. for properties that have roof structures that are north facing and shaded these will be given extra drying time.

With all sensitive areas sheeted up the contractor will pre-apply a high quality biocide to ensure that any remaining sub surface moss and algae spores are eliminated, this is particularly relevant for concrete tiles that are more prone to these spores "hanging on". Once dry, the perimeter of the roof structure is cut in by hand before applying the first of two coats of product. For customers with clay or slate tiles then a clear sealer is the recommended application to enhance the natural attributes of these aesthetically pleasing natural surfaces.

The first coat, applied via an airless sprayer, is a heavy covering that is fully absorbed into the tile structure, Climashield™ has been scientifically produced to ensure full absorption to enhance the inbuilt green growth inhibitors as well as ensuring great colour retention and at the same time allowing the tiles to flex and expel moisture.

Once this first application has cured a second coating is applied to further enhance the attributes mentioned above.

The site is then fully tidied and a final walk around with the customer to ensure complete satisfaction completes the job.
